Christian Carrier
Mr. Carrier graduated with a Bachelor in Physics and Masters in Radiation Biology from Université de Sherbrooke. He also completed Nuclear Engineering from l’École Polytechnique de Montréal.//He has more than 28 years of experience as a regulator both in areas of licensing and compliance over existing and new nuclear facilities, and as a technical specialist. He is currently the Director for the New Major Facilities Licensing Division at the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) managing the Vendor Design Review projects for advanced reactor technologies, including SMRs, and licensing and compliance of all new reactor projects, including the Darlington New Nuclear Project, and the Global First Power micro reactor project at the Chalk River Nuclear Laboratories.//Currently, Mr. Carrier is also the Chair of the Working Group on the Regulation of New Reactors (WGRNR) under the NEA Committee on Nuclear Regulatory Activities (CNRA).
