Michael Meier
Mike Meier is Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for Southern Nuclear, a position he assumed in October 2014. He is responsible for all licensing and interface activities with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for Southern Nuclear's fleet, including new construction of Vogtle Electric Generating Plants Unit 3 and 4. His additional responsibilities include Fleet Security, Fleet Environment and Fleet Emergency Planning. He is a member of the Southern Nuclear Management Council.
Prior to joining Southern Nuclear, Mike serves as Vice President of Corporate Service at STP Nuclear Operating Co. While there, he also served as General Manager of Corporate Services and Manager of Engineering Programs. Before that, he worked at Entergy Operations Grand Gulf Nuclear Station, first in Mechanical and Civil Engineering, then as Manager of Site Business Services.
Mike holds a PhD and a Master's Degree in Human and Organizational Systems from Fielding University, an MBA from Millsaps College, a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Mechanics and Materials from Southern Illinois University. He also has a Senior Reactor Operator certification at Grand Gulf Nuclear Station and is a registered Professional Engineer.
