Esther Corwin

Esther Corwin is currently the senior Exercise Specialist at the Texas Department of State Health Services, Center for Health Emergency Preparedness and Response. In these two short years, she was the key to the implementation of a state-level preparedness program ensuring each DSHS Public Health Region is supported in a rotating program of Planning, Training, Exercises, and Improvement. For the proceeding 17 years, she worked with the Texas Division of Emergency Management presenting more than 15 training courses, and providing technical support through mentoring to local jurisdictions in developing progressive preparedness exercises. in 2006, she completed the the Master Exercise Practitioner Program at the FEMA Emergency Management Institute. Ester retired from a career in the US Air Force and the Air Force Reserves where she supported the development of exercises ranging from organizational to multi-national. She started her emergency services life as a volunteer fire-fighter and medical responder while still in high school.
