Chris Miller

Christopher Miller assumed the role of Director, Division of Reactor Oversight in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation in 2019.  After joining the NRC in 1988, he has taken on assignments with progressively increasing responsibility in the Regions and Headquarters including, Senior Resident Inspector, Decommissioning Branch Chief, Section Chief in the Office of the Executive Director for Operations. Deputy Division Director for Emergency Preparedness, Director of the Region I Division of Reactor Safety, Director of Intergovernmental Liaison and Rulemaking, and Director of License Renewal, and Director of Inspection and Regional Support.  Prior to joining the NRC, Mr. Miller was a Systems Engineer and Maintenance Superintendent at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant and he served as a nuclear-engineer qualified Surface Warfare Officer and Radiation Controls Officer in the U.S. Navy, where he retired as a Captain with 30 years of service.  He is a proud father of five children, grandfather of eight, and is happily married to his wife of 40 years, Dr. Elizabeth Ann Miller.
