Don Moul

Don Moul is executive vice president, nuclear division and chief nuclear officer at NextEra Energy, Inc.  (NYSE: NEE). He is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the NextEra Energy Nuclear Fleet, which includes eight operating units at five plant sites.

Mr. Moul joined NextEra Energy in May 2019. He oversees daily operational activities at St. Lucie, Turkey Point, Seabrook Station, Duane Arnold Energy Center and Point Beach nuclear power plants. Mr. Moul has more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry, having held a variety of positions, primarily in nuclear divisions, with American Electric Power, Duquesne Light Company, FirstEnergy Corporation, GPU Nuclear Corporation and Public Service Electric & Gas.

Most recently, he served as president and chief nuclear officer of FirstEnergy Solutions (FES) Generation Companies, where he was responsible for nuclear operations, engineering and fleet regulatory affairs, in addition to continued oversight of the fossil fleet, fuel and unit dispatch. Under Don’s leadership, the FES nuclear fleet achieved its best-ever outage and total-cost performance, while maintaining exemplary INPO continuous monitoring ratings in 2018.

Mr. Moul has a Master in Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Science in nuclear engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. He also has been a senior reactor operator at multiple nuclear stations. He is married and has two adult sons.
