Pete Gaillard is the Regulatory Affairs Manager for TerraPower. He has over 36 years of experience in the commercial nuclear industry and the DOE complex including project management, nuclear licensing, safety analysis, and regulatory operations.
At TerraPower, he is responsible for developing and implementing licensing strategies, identifying and analyzing regulatory requirements, and managing interactions for advanced reactor designs under development at TerraPower. He also provides coordination between TerraPower and the NRC, NEI, and other external organizations including utilities and reactor vendors.
Pete is originally from Savannah, Georgia. After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech, Pete started his career with Duke Power Company at Catawba Nuclear Station. He has supported numerous projects in his career including new reactor construction, nuclear power station operations, the Yucca Mountain Project, decommissioning of DOE facilities, and Small Modular Reactor licensing. Pete and his wife currently reside in Woodinville, WA.
