Robert Elliott

Mr. Elliott has over 28 years of experience as a nuclear regulator.  He is currently the Chief of the Operating Experience Branch in the Division of Inspection and Regional Support (DIRS) in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).  Prior to that, he was the Chief of the Technical Specifications Branch in NRR for over eight years.  He joined the NRC in 1990 as a Project Engineer, and has held several positions since, including:  1) technical reviewer in both the Containment Systems and Plant Systems Branches, 2) technical assistant to an Associate Office Director in NRR, 3) senior staff engineer for the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS), and 4) Chief of the Contracts Management Branch in NRR.  In 2007, Mr. Elliott was selected as the NRC’s Congressional Fellow, spending one year working on Capitol Hill as a Senate staff member.  Mr. Elliott is a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and is a licensed Professional Engineer (Mechanical).
