William McCaughey

As Director of Advanced Fuels Technologies, Mr. McCaughey manages the Accident Tolerant Fuel Program for the existing fleet of commercial reactors and fuel research and development for future advanced reactors. He also manages the Systems Analysis and Integration Program and contributes to the Advanced Nuclear Fuel Availability Program, also known as the high-assay, low-enriched uranium program. He has been with the Office of Nuclear Energy for 15 years and Director of Advanced Fuels Technologies for 7 years.

Prior to joining the Office of Nuclear Energy, Mr. McCaughey worked in commercial nuclear reactor engineering and licensing. He has supported the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management and the Office of Science in the Department of Energy.
