Shane Lies

Shane Lies is senior vice president and chief nuclear officer, responsible for oversight of American Electric Power's Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant in Bridgman, Michigan. Cook is a dual-unit nuclear site with a total generating capacity of 2,150 megawatts.

Lies began his career at Cook in June of 1996 as a System Engineer. In 2000, he joined the Operations Department and obtained his Senior Reactor Operator's license. After serving in the control room as a Unit Supervisor, he has held the positions of System Engineering Manager, Operations Manager, Assistant Plant Manager, Engineering Director, Plant Manager, Engineering Vice President and Site Vice President.

Prior to joining AEP, he attended Kansas State University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering in 1994 and a master's degree in mechanical engineering in 1996.

Shane currently resides in Stevensville, Michigan, with his wife, Angie, and their four children.
