Robert Roche-Rivera
Mr. Robert Roche-Rivera is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Maryland. He is the Program Manager for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Codes and Standards Program. Mr. Roche-Rivera currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez, via the NRC's Minority Serving Institutions Program. With over 17 years with the NRC, he has occupied multiple positions, including Structural Engineer and Project Manager in the NRC's Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research, where he worked on, and managed multiple projects related to nuclear structures and earthquake engineering. His experience also includes serving as Project Manager for the development and update of NRC Regulatory Guides. Mr. Roche-Rivera, also served as a technical reviewer in the former NRC's Office of New Reactors, in which he completed the review and safety evaluations of the structural design and seismic design and analysis for multiple new reactor applications.
