Paul Krohn

Mr. Krohn joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 1996 as a Reactor Inspector in Region III.  Since joining the NRC, he has held positions of increasing responsibility including resident inspector at both LaSalle and Prairie Island, and a senior resident inspector at Point Beach.   In 2005, Mr. Krohn was selected as a Branch Chief in the Division of Reactor Projects, Region I with oversight of Millstone, Seabrook, Peach Bottom, Limerick, and Susquehanna.   In 2012 he transitioned to a Branch Chief in the Division of Reactor Safety with oversight of design basis and modification inspections.   In 2016, Mr. Krohn was selected to the position of Deputy Director, Division of Construction Inspection and Operational Programs, Office of New Reactors with program oversight of Vogtle 3 and 4 construction.   In 2019, he was selected to the position of Deputy Director, Division of Reactor Safety (DRS), and in 2021 to the Deputy position in the newly formed Division of Operating Reactor Safety (DORS), both in Region I.   He has also performed rotations as the DRS Director (Region I) and DORS Director (Region III).   Mr. Krohn is a graduate of the NRC's Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program.

Prior to joining the NRC, Mr. Krohn worked for the Navy Nuclear Power Program as an engineer at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory where he completed a shift supervisor tour at a prototype plant and developed nondestructive testing probes for major reactor components.   Mr. Krohn received a bachelor's degree in marine engineering from the State University of New York Maritime College and a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor).   Mr. Krohn is also a registered Professional Engineering in New York and Pennsylvania.
