Mirabelle Shoemaker

Mirabelle Shoemaker is an international safeguards analyst in the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards. In this role, she serves as the NRC Project Manager for the Nuclear Materials Management and Safeguards System (NMMSS), a jointly-operated database with DOE for tracking inventories and transactions of source and special nuclear material. In addition to her primaries duties in NMSS, Ms. Shoemaker supports implementation of the Be riskSMART Framework as an ambassador to the agency’s working group. Prior to joining the NRC, Ms. Shoemaker worked at the U.S. Coast Guard. She has a dual B.A./B.S. from The George Washington University in International Affairs and Political Science. She obtained her M.A. in International Affairs from The Catholic University of America.
