Michele Sampson

Ms. Sampson currently serves as the Director for the Division of Engineering, in the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research. She joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission in 2007, and has held a number of positions including Senior Project Manager, Thermal and Containment Branch Chief, and Licensing Branch Chief in the Division of Spent Fuel Management in the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards, Executive Technical Assistant in the Office of the Executive Director for Operations, Chief of the Reactor Security Branch, Deputy Director and Acting Director for the Division of Physical and Cyber Security Policy in the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response, and Deputy Director in the Division of Engineering in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. Prior to joining the NRC, Ms. Sampson worked at the Department of Transportation and at USEC’s Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant.  Ms. Sampson is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky.
