John Ford

John Ford is the Deputy Director for the National Integration Center (NIC) at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). He is responsible for the administration and implementation of the National Incident Management System (NIMS), the National Planning Frameworks, and the planning Technical Assistance program that support the National Preparedness System. From 2012 to 2016, He was the Director of Emergency Services for Carteret County, North Carolina. He was responsible for leading and coordinating emergency medical services, emergency communications, the emergency management program, and fire prevention activities for the county. From 2008 to 2012, Ford served FEMA in the Office of Training, Exercise, and Doctrine as the Exercise Section Chief from 2008 to 2012. He was the exercise program lead for FEMA and the lead advisor for FEMA's participation in all exercises. Additionally, Ford was a Firefighter/Lieutenant with the City of Raleigh Fire Department in North Carolina from 1998 to 2008. Ford has a Master's in Public Administration from American University. He obtained a graduate level certificate in Community Preparedness and Disaster Management (CPDM) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management from Western Carolina University.
