Jimmy Stringer
Jimmy Stringer is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Cincinnati. Mr. Stringer graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio with a Bachelor of Science in physics in 2009. Mr. Stringer continued on to attain a Master of Science in Medical Physics from the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine in 2011. After his bachelors and masters degrees, Mr. Stringer was commissioned as an Officer in the United States Air Force where he served 4 years as an active-duty Bioenvironmental Engineer and Medical Physicist and 5 years in the Air National Guard. During his tenure in the US Air Force Mr. Stringer created a career progression pipeline for Medical Physicist in the Air Force, deployed to Afghanistan, and was the Chief Bioenvironmental Engineer for Mansfield-Lahm Airfield. After his military service, Mr. Stringer was recruited to the Ann Arbor Veterans Hospital where he eventually became the Chief of Medical Physics. Currently Mr. Stringer is a clinical Diagnostic Medical Physicist for University of Cincinnati Health System. Mr. Stringer is board certified through the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Medical Physics and Diagnostic Medical Physics. Mr. Stringer's research interests include optimization of dose delivery in proton radiotherapy and variations in radiation therapy dosimetry based on sex, disease state and race. Mr. Stringer has been awarded scholarships and grants from the National Institute on Occupational Safety and Health, National Branchy Therapy Society, and Next Step Innovation Hub.
