Jeremy Groom

Jeremy R. Groom is currently the acting Deputy Director of the Division of Decommissioning, Uranium Recovery, and Waste Programs in the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards. Jeremy began his career with the NRC as a Reactor Inspector in 2005. From 2008 – 2015, Jeremy served in the NRC's resident inspector program, as both the NRC senior resident inspector at Columbia Generating Station near Richland, Washington and as the NRC resident inspector at the Callaway Energy Center near Fulton, Missouri. Since 2015, Jeremy has served in various leadership roles including as the Chief of Region IV's Physical Security, Chief of Reactor Project Branch A, and Team Leader of the Allegations and Enforcement Staff. In 2019, Jeremy completed a rotational assignment as the acting Deputy Director, Division of Inspection and Regional Support in NRR, and in 2021, he served as the Managing Director, EMBARK Venture Studios.

Jeremy is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served aboard the Los Angeles class attack submarine U.S.S. Jefferson City, and is a graduate of Syracuse University.
