Jeffrey Wood

Jeffery Wood serves as a Senior Reliability and Risk Analyst in the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research. Dr. Wood joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 2006 as participant in the Nuclear Safety Professional Development Program. Since that time, he has served in various capacities supporting development of the models, tools, and guidance related to NRC's use of probabilistic risk assessment (PRA). Recently, Dr. Wood has served on the NRC's full-scope site Level 3 PRA project as a technical leader for the areas of internal flooding PRA, low power and shutdown PRA, and Level 2 PRA. He is currently serving as the project manager for the next revision of Regulatory Guide 1.200. Prior to joining the NRC, Dr. Wood worked as a particle physics researcher at the Brookhaven National Laboratory. Dr. Wood received a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California Los Angeles.
