Due to a lapse in appropriations, the NRC has ceased normal operations. However, excepted and exempted activities necessary to maintain critical health and safety functions—as well as essential progress on designated critical activities, including those specified in Executive Order 14300—will continue, consistent with the OMB-Approved NRC Lapse Plan.

Jean-Luc Lachaume

Jean-Luc Lachaume graduated from the French Naval Academy in 1980 and began his career in the French Navy as Naval Officer. In 1998 he joined ASN and in 2004 he was appointed Deputy Director-General. In 2017 he joined IRSN as Executive Director for EP&R. In 2018, he was appointed by the President of the National Assembly as ASN Commissioner. He is also currently the Chairman of the association of the European radiological protection Regulators.
