James Anderson

Mr. Anderson is an Emergency Preparedness Specialist in the Division of Preparedness and Response, Policy and Oversight Branch, providing oversight of the emergency preparedness inspection program and assisting in the development of regulatory and guidance enhancements. Prior to rejoining the NRC in 2021, he was an Emergency Preparedness Officer in the Incident and Emergency Centre of the IAEA, where he served as an Emergency Response Manager, Emergency Preparedness and Response Information Management System (EPRIMS) Program Manager, and lead for emergency preparedness and response for small modular reactors and Member States embarking on nuclear power programs. He previously served as an Emergency Response Coordinator in the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Reponse at the NRC from 2012 to 2019. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a degree in English and from the George Washington University with a Master of Public Health/Epidemiology.
