Digital Twin Project Team

The digital twin project team is led by Reactor Engineering Branch (RES/DE/REB) staff and includes NRC staff from across the agency as well as technical experts from Idaho and Oak Ridge national labs. REB plans and executes programs for analytic and experimental research to develop the technical bases, methods, and tools for advanced technology applications that influence the safety of operating and advanced reactors and other facilities regulated by the NRC. The digital twin project was initiated in 2020 to study the potential nuclear domain applications of digital twin technology and the infrastructure needed to regulate such applications, and wraps up this year with the publication of two final technical reports.
