Chris van Wert
Chris Van Wert serves as Senior Technical Advisor of Nuclear Fuel in the Division of Safety Systems, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR)
Chrs joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 2007 as a Reactor Systems Engineer in the Office of New Reactors. He served as lead technical reviewer for the AP1000 Design Certification application and multiple fuel rod design methodology and spent fuel pool criticality topical reports After joining the Division of Advanced Reactors and Non-Power Utilization Facilities in NRR, he served as the lead technical reviewer for Terrestrial Power's Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) review team and Abilene Christian University Molten Salt Research Reactor (MSRR) Construction Permit application
Before joining the NRC, Mr. Van Wert worked as a Senior Engineer for Westinghouse in the Fuel Rod and Thermal Hydraulic Design group. Mr. Van Wert received a bachelor's degree and master's degree in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University.
