Benjamin Schumeg
Benjamin Schumeg is the Software Quality/Reliability/Safety Artificial Intelligence Technical Lead within Armament Center’s Quality Engineering & System Assurance (QE&SA) Directorate. He is responsible for researching Test & Evaluation/Verification & Validation capabilities for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Automation, and other technologies, and assisting QE&SA in developing policies and procedures to be used by Armaments Center. He currently leads the Army AI Software Safety Sub-Group focused on the Test & Evaluation/Verification & Validation of AI systems and data. Mr. Schumeg also spent a year with the Safety and Mission Assurance Office at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Johnson Space Center, assisting in Software Quality Assurance for commercial visiting vehicles to the International Space Station. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, and his master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.
