Andrea Ferkile

Ms. Andrea M. Ferkile is the Director of the Office of Nonproliferation Policy in the Office of Nonproliferation and Arms at the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration. Ms. Ferkile began her federal career in 2006 when she joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Her career at the NRC included serving as an Executive Technical Assistant in NRC’s Office of the Executive Director for Operations, worked as an International Policy Analyst and Licensing Officer in NRC’s Office of International Programs, and she spent eight years in NRC’s Office of the Inspector General. Her most recent position was serving as the Director for Nonproliferation at the National Security Council. Prior to joining the U.S. Government, Ms. Ferkile received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado in biology and chemistry, and a master’s degree in biotechnologies, concentrating in biological and chemical defense, from Johns Hopkins University.
