Due to a lapse in appropriations, the NRC has ceased normal operations. However, excepted and exempted activities necessary to maintain critical health and safety functions—as well as essential progress on designated critical activities, including those specified in Executive Order 14300—will continue, consistent with the OMB-Approved NRC Lapse Plan.

Alexandra Alexoiu

Since October 2021,Alexajdra Alexoiu has been working as Junior Nuclear Adviser in the field of radiation protections and waste management within the National Commission for Nuclear Activities Control, the Romanian Nuclear Regulatory Body, CNCAN. Alexandra is currently employed within the Nuclear Fuel Cycle Division, Radiation Protection, Radioactive Waste and Transport Section. Alexandra's work is related to regulatory review, licensing and control of radiation protection activities, radioactive waste management, including spent nuclear fuel and transport activities for installations and activities within the nuclear fuel cycle.
