IMC 0040 (Preparing, Revising, and Issuing Documents for the NRC Inspection Manual) has been revised to require that revisions of inspection procedures do not inadvertently delete inspection requirements that were added as a result of an event or occurrence that had generic applicability. It was also revised to better define responsibilities of the originating organization regarding training associated with the new or revised manual chapters and/or inspection procedures. IMC 0720 (Nuclear Regulatory Commission Generic Communications Regarding Nuclear Reactor Issues) is deleted. LIC-503, "Generic Communications Affecting Nuclear Reactor Licensees," replaces this inspection manual chapter. IMC 2515 (Light-Water Reactor Inspection Program - Operations Phase) has been revised to reflect recommended changes to define the periodicity of biennially and triennially. The section on inspector policy has been revised to allow early assignment of replacement senior and resident inspectors to a site prior to the end of the tour of the incumbent inspector. IP 81001.1 Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation(s) At Operating Plants The above procedures are being issued to define the inspections to be performed at operating plants with Independent Spent Fuel Storage Facilities (ISFSIs). These procedures list the prioritized sections from the parent procedure that will be performed at operating sites and therefore have the same inspection procedure number with an added suffix. The prioritized sections were identified in a Boger/Brach memorandum dated February 20, 2002. IP 71111.15 (Operability Evaluations) has been revised to include deferred modifications to the inspection sampling list. |
