REMARKS:

IP 60856 (Review of 10 CFR 72.212(b) Evaluations) has been revised to improve clarity and to provide inspection requirements for inspectors out in the field.

IP 78060 (Design Control (Pre-Licensing and Construction)) is issued to define "The Yucca Mountain Design Control Program" requirements and provides guidance for inspecting the U.S. Department of Energy's activities regarding the design of a geologic repository for disposal of high-level radioactive waste at Yucca Mountain, Nevada. The purpose of this IP is to ensure that the geologic repository is designed in accordance with the applicable regulations and the construction authorization.

IP 78070 (Procurement Document Control (Pre-Licensing and Construction)) is issued to define the "The Yucca Mountain Procurement Document Control Program." The purpose of this IP is to ensure that procurement documents adequately incorporate regulatory and design basis information for the procurement of material, equipment, and services and require contractors and subcontractors to have Quality Assurance Programs implemented that meet the requirements of 10 CFR 63.142.

IP 78080 (Instruction, Procedures, and Drawings (Pre-Licensing and Construction)) is issued to define the "Yucca Mountain Program for Instructions, Procedures, and Drawings." The purpose of this IP is ensure that important activities are prescribed by, and accomplished in accordance with, documented instructions, procedures, or drawings, and test plans and procedures, as appropriate.

IP 78090 (Document Control (Pre-Licensing and Construction)) is issued to define the "Yucca Mountain Document Control Program." The purpose of this IP is to ensure that an effective document control program is adequately defined and implemented to properly control and maintain documents.

IP 78160 (Control of Measuring and Test Equipment (Pre-Licensing and Construction) is issued to define "The Yucca Mountain Program for Control of Measuring and Test Equipment." The purpose of this IP is to ensure that tools, gauges, instruments and other measuring and testing devices are properly controlled and maintained to ensure their accuracy.

IP 78170 (Handling, Storage, and Shipping of Materials and Equipment (Pre-Licensing and Construction)) is issued to define the "Yucca Mountain Program for Handling Storage, and Shipping of Materials and Equipment." The purpose of this IP is ensure that adequate measures are established for the handling, storage, and shipping of material and equipment.

IP 78200 (Corrective Action (Pre-Licensing and Construction)) is issued to define the "Yucca Mountain Corrective Action Program." The purpose of this IP is to ensure that an effective corrective action program is adequately defined and implemented by procedures and identifies and corrects conditions adverse to quality, and precludes recurrence of significant conditions adverse to quality.

IP 78300 (Supplier/Vendor Inspection (Pre-Licensing and Construction)) is issued to define "The Yucca Mountain Program for supplier and Vendor Inspection." The purpose of this IP is to ensure that vendors of items classified as important to safety or important to waste isolation comply with an established quality assurance program.
