Discussion:

Mark Reddemann, NMC Vice President of Engineering, announced the
appointment of Scott Northard as Prairie Island Engineering Director,
effective July 1, 2002. Northard, who is currently Director of Nuclear
Asset Management for Xcel Energy, the utility owner of Prairie Island,
will replace Joe Jensen, who had been temporarily assigned to the
engineering director position.

Northard has been the Director of Nuclear Asset Management for Xcel
Energy since NMC was formed. He originally started at Prairie Island in
1977 as a system engineer and later as a nuclear engineer. He has also
served as Manager, Special Nuclear Programs, Director of Personnel for
Electric Utility, Director of Materials Management and Manager of
Technical Standards for Xcel Energy (formerly NSP).
