The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research (RES), in cooperation with the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), working under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Cooperative Nuclear Safety Research, will sponsor workshops related to the development of fire probabilistic risk assessments (PRAs).  Training will cover the methodology presented in "EPRI/NRC-RES Fire PRA Methodology for Nuclear Power Facilities" (NUREG/CR-6850/EPRI 1011989) and follow on publications. Past training workshops have included five separate modules: PRA Introduction, Electrical Analysis, Fire Analysis, Human Reliability (HRA), and Advanced Fire Modeling..

Only Module 2, Electrical Analysis, and Module 3, Fire Analysis, are being offered this year.  Module 2 will be held as five sessions starting August 25^th.  Module 3 will be held as 6 session beginning May 5^th and is an enhanced version of the typical Module 3.  In addition to the usual course content, Module 3 will include some of the important content from Module 5 (Advanced Fire Modeling). Both class modules will be held virtually as public meetings and will be available at no charge. Each session will be approximately 3 to 4 hours long and will begin at 10:00 am eastern time.. NRC staff are required to request approval for attendance through TMS then register using the corresponding registration link below.
