Advisory Committee on Nuclear Waste and Materials Documents
Effective June 1, 2008, the Advisory Committee on Nuclear Waste and Materials (ACNW&M) merged into the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS). The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's decision to merge ACNW&M into ACRS was based on the changing workload and technical challenges facing the agency and the anticipated increased need for expertise in health physics, waste management, and earth sciences in the agency's licensing reviews for new reactors, the mixed-oxide nuclear fuel fabrication facility, and facilities related to the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership.
