Gerry van Noordennen, Vice President Regulatory Affairs for EnergySolutions.

Gerry is responsible and accountable for ensuring the nuclear decommissioning projects comply with and are in conformance with Federal, State and local nuclear and environmental regulations governing nuclear plant operations and decommissioning. He is also responsible for coordinating all EnergySolutions actions with the NRC including spent fuel and LLRW cask licensing.

Gerry van Noordennen has more than 40 years of nuclear power experience, during which he has worked as a reactor and core reload engineer at Dresden and Quad Cities, startup engineer at Zion and San Onofre, Licensing Supervisor for Connecticut Yankee and Millstone, Director of Regulatory Affairs for the decommissioning of Connecticut Yankee and Yankee Atomic, Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for Zion and LaCrosse, and Licensing and Environmental Manager for the San Onofre contractor, SDS.  He has more than 20 years of decommissioning experience and has been involved in decommissioning of five nuclear power plant sites.  This included planning and regulatory management of all phases of decommissioning holding various regulatory management of all phases of decommissioning holding various management and consulting roles.  He has been responsible for Licensing, Regulatory Affairs, QA/QC, Security, Chemistry, Emergency Planning, and Environmental.

Gerry van Noordennen has a Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from University of Michigan, a Master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from Northwestern University and a Juris Doctor from John Marshall Law School.
