          GENERIC LETTER - 81-13

We have completed the review of the General Electric Company submittals
regarding the application of the GEXL correlation to 8x8R fuel. We have
concluded that the GEXL correlation is acceptable for 8x8R fuel reload
application and the Appendix D submittals of the General Electric Topical

acceptable for incorporation into that document. The General Electric
Company has been informed of this matter by letter dated April 16, 1981.

A safety evaluation describing the basis for our conclusions is enclosed for
your information.
