Steven Lynch

Steven Lynch is the Acting Chief of the Research and Test Reactors Licensing Branch, which is responsible for the licensing of non-power reactors at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.  Currently, Mr. Lynch coordinates the NRC’s licensing of facilities intending to produce molybdenum-99.  Mr. Lynch also supports preparations for anticipated applications for advanced reactor technologies and license reviews for the export and import of nuclear equipment and material.

Recently, Mr. Lynch lead the review of the SHINE Medical Technologies construction permit application for a first-of-a-kind facility dedicated to medical isotope production.  The construction permit, issued in February 2016, was the first issued by the NRC since 1985.

Mr. Lynch holds a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering and Music from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Masters of Engineering in Nuclear Engineering from Penn State University.
