Hossein Hamzehee

Mr. Hamzehee has over thirty years of experience in risk and reliability assessment, design, engineering, inspection, and regulation of commercial nuclear power plants.  He joined the NRC in 1998 and has served in progressively more responsible positions in various NRC offices, including the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR), Office of New Reactors, and Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research.  He is currently the chief of the PRA Licensing Branch, in NRR.  He has been involved in the development of many probabilistic risk assessments (PRAs) of internal events, seismic events, and internal fire for various operating nuclear power plants.  Prior to joining the NRC, Mr. Hamzehee worked for Texas Utilities, Northeast Utilities, and PLG, Inc.  Mr. Hamzehee has made significant contributions to the development of PRA studies, methods, and their applications to risk-informed regulations.  He is the principal author/co-author of numerous technical papers, NUREG reports and Commission papers in the area of PRA/Severe Accidents.  He has been very successful in utilizing his industry and NRC experience to effectively support the safe operation of nuclear power plants.  He has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
