Eric Thomas

Eric Thomas is a Senior Reactor Engineer in the Operating Experience Branch of NRC's Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation.  The Operating Experience Branch collects, communicates, evaluates and applies information from daily reactor event reports, the reactor oversight process, and other industry and international sources.  Mr. Thomas and his team analyze various data streams to determine whether there are any short term trends of concern.

Mr. Thomas joined the NRC in 2002 as a licensing project manager.  From 2003 to 2005, he spent time in the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response as a headquarters operations officer and an emergency response coordinator.  Mr. Thomas returned to the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation in 2005, and joined the Operating Experience Branch in 2006.

Prior to joining NRC, Mr. Thomas spent eight years on active duty with the U.S. Navy.  He is a 1992 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy.
