Dan Dorman

Mr. Dorman joined the NRC in 1991 as a Project Engineer in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR). In 1999, he was selected as Chief, Quality Assurance and Safety Assessment Section in the Division of Inspection Program Management, NRR. In 2001, Mr. Dorman was selected for the Senior Executive Service (SES) position of Chief, Engineering Research Applications Branch, Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research. In 2003, he joined the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response as Deputy Director, Division of Nuclear Security, and in 2006 was appointed Director, Division of Security Operations. In 2008, he was appointed as Director, Division of Fuel Cycle Safety and Safeguards in NMSS. On August 1, 2010, he was appointed as Deputy Director, Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards. On January 03, 2012, he was appointed to his current position as Deputy Director, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. Prior to joining the NRC, Mr. Dorman served in the U.S. Navy's nuclear power program. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the Webb Institute of Naval Architecture.
