Frederick Brown

Mr. Brown is currently the Director of the Division of Inspection and Regional Support in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, a position he has held since 2007. He graduated from the NRC's Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program in 2005, and has held three SES positions. In 2000, Mr. Brown was selected for a Section Chief position in the Division of Industrial and Nuclear Safety. He also served as a Section Chief in the High Level Waste Program. Mr. Brown joined the NRC's Region III in 1994 where he qualified as a Fuel Cycle Resident Inspector, a BWR Reactor Inspector, and a PWR Senior Resident Inspector. Prior to joining the NRC, Mr. Brown spent 12 years at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, where he held progressively more responsible engineering and managerial positions. Mr. Brown maintains a Mechanical Engineer certification in the State of California. He is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, at Kings Point N.Y.
