Introduction

The Equal Employment Opportunity Advisory Committees provide advice and recommendations to the Office of Small Business and Civil Rights (SBCR) and National Treasury Employees Union, where appropriate. These recommendations concern policies, procedures, and practices related to selections, promotion, retention, placement, merit staffing training, recruitment, and career development of employees of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).

EEO Advisory Committees conduct monthly meetings and organize seminars, workshops, and luncheons focused on career development and the needs of employees. The EEO Advisory Committees also host networking events to enhance awareness and employees' interpersonal relations with all levels of agency staff.

The EEO Advisory Committees participate in semiannual Executive Director of Operations briefings to the Commission to discuss the effectiveness of EEO and diversity management initiatives at the NRC.
