COOPER ENERGY SERVICES(CES) REPORTED A PART 21 CONCERNING A      
POTENTIAL DEFECT OF THE ENTERPRISE DSR-4 & DSRV-4 EMERGENCY      
DIESEL GENERATORS.                                               
                                                                 
THE POTENTIAL DEFECT CONCERNS THE STARTING AIR ADMISSION VALVES  
(BLOCK AND VENT VALVES), ENTERPRISE PART NO. KR-001-000, WHICH   
WERE ORIGINALLY MANUFACTURED BY CALCON CORP.  (CALCON HAS SINCE  
BEEN PURCHASED BY AMOT CONTROLS CORP.)  THESE VALVES ARE PART OF 
REDUNDANT STARTING CIRCUITS SUCH THAT TWO ARE EMPLOYED ON MODEL  
DSR-4 AND FOUR ON MODEL DSRV-4. THE POTENTIAL DEFECT WAS REPORTED
TO CES BY ENTERGY OPERATIONS AFTER THREE VALVES AT THE RIVER BEND
PLANT FAILED DURING OPERATION OR WHILE ON THE TEST BENCH.        
FAILURE OF THESE VALVES COULD RENDER THE EDG INOPERABLE AND NO   
CLEAR CAUSE OF THE FAILURES HAS BEEN DETERMINED.  THE FOLLOWING  
NINE U.S. SITES ARE AFFECTED:  HARRIS, PERRY, CATAWBA, GRAND     
GULF, RIVER BEND, VOGTLE, COMANCHE PEAK, BELLEFONTE AND WNP-1.   
THERE ARE ALSO SEVERAL SITES IN KOREA AND TAIWAN WHICH MAY BE    
AFFECTED.
