Discussion:

C. S. (Scotty) Hinnant, Chief Nuclear Officer for Progress Energy, has announced his retirement effective January 1, 2008, after working for 35 years for Progress Energy. James Scarola, currently the Site Vice-President at Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, will be promoted to succeed Mr. Hinnant effective January 2, 2008. Leadership changes affecting the Brunswick plant will be announced before the Chief Nuclear Officer transition takes place.
