Discussion:

PPL Corporation has announced that Mr. Bob Saccone, the Vice President of Nuclear Operations at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, plans to retire after 34 years with the company. Mr. Saccone came to Susquehanna in 1979 during the plant's startup phase. Mr. Neil Gannon, a 32-year industry veteran, was named as Mr. Saccone's successor. Mr. Gannon comes from Progress Energy in North Carolina and joined the PPL management team on April 30, to begin the transition of responsibility. Mr. Gannon will be responsible for safe and reliable operation of both Susquehanna units, and will report directly to Britt McKinney, PPL Susquehanna Senior VP and Chief Nuclear Officer.
