Discussion:

This information is current as of 9:00 am (EST) on March 25, 2004. Davis-Besse completed its maintenance outage to repair feed water and steam line turbine bypass valves and recommenced start-up activities. The plant is currently in Mode 3 at 430OF and 1470 psig. The plant entered Mode 3 (reactor coolant temperature >280OF) at 12:30 pm March 24 and expects to enter Mode 2 by early morning March 26.

Ongoing resident inspector coverage, and enhanced inspection oversight will continue to be utilized to evaluate operational evolutions. During the maintenance outage, inspection oversight was reduced to two-shift coverage. Around-the-clock oversight will be re-initiated on March 25 at 4:00 p.m., and will continue during operational evolutions until full power routine operations are achieved.
