This information is current as of 7:30 am (EST) on March 15, 2004. The plant is currently in Mode 1 at 14% reactor power. The plant entered Mode 1 on March 14, 2004, at 11:59 p.m.

Upcoming key events include conducting initial grid synchronization for Main Turbine-Generator testing, performing a readiness and effectiveness review prior to exceeding 50% power, placing a second main feedwater pump in service, and power ascension to 100% power. Absent significant performance or equipment problems these events are scheduled to be accomplished in the next five to seven days.

Ongoing resident inspector coverage, and around-the-clock inspection and oversight of licensee activities continues with NRC resident inspector and examiner support from all Regional Offices. This coverage, which commenced March 9, is expected to be in place for approximately two weeks.
