Discussion:

On September 29, 2003, Florida Power and Light Company (FPL) announced that Mr. Gordy Johnston, who previously served as Director of Nuclear Oversight for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Operating Group at Exelon, has been named Plant General Manager at St. Lucie Nuclear Plant, effective immediately. Mr. Johnston replaced Mr. Dick Rose who retired from his position as the Plant General Manager at St. Lucie. FPL also announced additional management changes as result of an organizational realignment at St. Lucie.

Discussion:

On September 26, 2003, FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) named Barry Allen Plant Manager at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station effective October 2003. The date Mr. Allen will assume Plant Manager duties on site has not yet been released. Mr. Allen will oversee plant operations and report to Davis-Besse Site Vice-President Mark Bezilla, who will transfer his present additional duties as Acting Plant Manager. Mr. Allen has more than 17 years of nuclear power experience with both pressurized and boiling water reactors and has broad experience in engineering, maintenance and operations. His most recent position was with Entergy's River Bend Station in Louisiana as manager of Emergency Preparedness. Mr. Allen holds a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture Structures and a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, both from Texas Tech University. He also holds an MBA from the University of Arkansas and was certified as a Senior Reactor Operator at ANO-2.

Effective September 22, 2003, FENOC named Joseph J. Hagan as Senior Vice President. Mr. Hagan will oversee FENOC Engineering and Support Services and will report to Mr. Gary Leidich, who was promoted from this position to FENOC President and Chief Nuclear Operating Officer on September 1, 2003. Mr. Hagan has more than 26 years of nuclear experience. His most recent position was Senior Vice President of Nuclear Operations for Exelon Generation with responsibility for the Mid-Atlantic Operating Group, which included Peach Bottom, Limerick, Oyster Creek, and Three Mile Island 1. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of PECO. Other previous experience includes Site Vice President at Entergy's Grand Gulf plant, General Manager at Hope Creek and Vice President of Nuclear Operations for Public Service Enterprise in Newark, New Jersey. Mr. Hagan holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and a MS in Engineering Management from Drexel University and completed the Program for Executive Management Development at Harvard. He was a licensed Senior Reactor Operator at Hope Creek.
