Subject: APPROACH OF TROPICAL STORM CLAUDETTE

Discussion:

NRC Region IV continues to monitor the track and projected movement of
Tropical Storm Claudette. Currently, it appears that the storm may
strengthen to hurricane strength prior to landfall. Landfall is
predicted at Port O'Conner, Texas, about 35 miles south of the South
Texas Project, at 6 to 8 p.m. (CDT) on Tuesday, July 15.

Regional Action:

Region IV has dispatched two inspectors to provide site coverage during
the approach and passage of the storm. Region IV will continue to
monitor the storm and maintain readiness to respond as necessary.
