Subject: MANAGEMENT CHANGES IN NUCLEAR MANAGEMENT COMPANY, LLC
Discussion:
The Nuclear Management Company, LLC, (NMC) announced recent changes in
its upper management structure at three of its plants: Fred Cayia,
currently the Plant Manager at Point Beach, will move into the newly
created position of Kewaunee/Point Beach (KPB) Station Director,
effective December 21, 2001. The Kewaunee and Point Beach Plant Managers,
the KPB Director of Engineering, and the KPB Site Services Manager will
report directly to Mr. Cayia, who will report to the KPB Site
Vice-President, Mark Reddemann. In addition to the Station Director, the
KPB Business Support Manager, Assessment Manager, Training Manager,
Nuclear Oversight Manager, Human Resources Manager, and Communications
Manager will report to Mr. Reddemann.
Tom Taylor, previously the Kewaunee Nuclear Power Plant (KNPP) Operations
Manger, will replace Mr. Cayia as the Point Beach Plant Manager,
effective December 21, 2001. Tom Coutu, effective December 14, 2001, will
replace Kyle Hoops as the KNPP Plant Manager. Mr. Hoops will be taking an
INPO assignment. Effective December 3, 2001, Jeff Stoeger, who was the
KNPP Assistant Operations Manager, is the acting KNPP Operations Manager
until a permanent replacement is named.
At Prairie Island, Bill Jefferson has been appointed to the newly created
position of Director of Site Operations. The plant manager and possibly
other superintendents will report to Mr. Jefferson who has previous
experience with Exelon and PECO. The licensee also created the position
of Director of Site Engineering and appointed Lee Williams to that
position. The station superintendents of systems engineering, program
engineering, and project engineering will report to Mr. Williams who has
experience with Duke Engineering Services and at Browns Ferry. The final
organization of the two Director positions at Prairie Island are still
being developed.
