Subject: First Energy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC)announces
         Management Changes.


Discussion:

Robert Saunders, President and CNO of FENOC, announced today that
FirstEnergy (FENOC) will have the following management changes. The
changes will be effective December 24, 2001.

John Wood, Perry Nuclear Power Plant Vice President, will become the
FENOC Vice President for Engineering Services, a newly created position.

Guy Campbell, the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Vice President, will
replace John Wood and become the Vice President at Perry.

Howard Bergendahl, the Davis-Besse Plant Manager, will replace Guy
Campbell and become the Vice President at Davis-Besse.
