Purpose
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the NRC staff report on its review of the NRC’s regulatory readiness for oversight of commercial transportation of SNF and the regulatory oversight roles of the NRC, DOT, and DHS, and to answer questions by stakeholders and members of the public about the staff review.

The NRC staff has recently completed a review of its regulatory framework for commercial transportation of SNF. At this meeting, the staff will present the scope and results of the review, including the roles and responsibilities of the NRC and other Federal partners for commercial transportation of SNF.
