Our presentation will inform viewers about how the OIG works to ensure efficiency and effectiveness within the NRC and how OIG employees envision its work changing in the future. The mission of the Office of the Inspector General of detecting and deterring fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement within federal agencies is the same as it was when the IG Act was passed in 1978, but their methods have and must continue to develop over time through innovation.
