Madhumita Sircar

Madhumita Sircar (Struct. Eng. M.Sc., PE) is a Senior Structural Engineer in the NRC, Office of Research. The Current focus of her research is aging of NPP structures and structural performance. Her current research encompasses radiation effects on concrete structures and aging of prestressed concrete containments. Ms. Sircar also develops regulatory guidance and represents NRC in American Concrete Institute and American Society of Mechanical Engineers code committees. Additionally, she is the NRC representative on the International Committee on Irradiated Concrete, and participates and represents NRC in various international mission-critical activities under the auspices of International Atomic Energy Agency and Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development.

Before NRC, she worked in BECHTEL Corporation in the area of structural analysis, design, construction, project development, and project management for building power plants. In her time with BECHTEL, she held various positions and responsibilities from senior engineer to leadership and supervisory positions.  Ms. Sircar has over 25 years of experience in the field, of which the last 9 years are with NRC.
