Brett Rini

Mr. Brett Rini is the Acting Team Leader of the International Programs Team in the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research (RES), where he and his team are responsible for negotiating international agreements, supporting staff's cooperative research efforts with international counterparts, and coordinating RES foreign travel.  He most recently served as the Technical Assistant to the Director of RES and prior to that as the Technical Assistant to the Director of the RES Division of Engineering.  Brett spent several years as an Operating Experience Analyst in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, where he was responsible for reviewing events at domestic and international facilities and identifying possible lessons learned or follow-up actions.  During that time, he supported the National Coordinator to the international Incident Reporting System and made presentations at the International Atomic Energy Agency on significant event at U.S. nuclear power plants.  Brett joined the NRC in 2002 and has worked in RES since 2009.  He has also worked in the Office of the Executive Director for Operations, the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and Region I.  Brett has a B.S. degree in Mathematics from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
